On 26th January 2024, eight of our ArshaGokulam, Mysuru students embarked on a transformative three-day journey to Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s “Arsha Vidya Gurukulam” in Anaikatti, Tamil Nadu. This marks the second batch of students to visit, following the first batch of 4 students in June 2023. During their visit, they received invaluable insights and guidance from Jayakumar ji and his family members.
During the ashram stay, Srinivasanji and Sunitha conducted personal counselling and mentoring sessions, addressing the emotional needs of our students. Their strengths were highlighted, and areas of improvement were discussed, along with tips on correction. Additionally, various human values were dealt with in detail, clearing the confusions and dilemmas students had in handling some of their day-to-day situations.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the serene ambiance filled with divine bliss, temple chantings, and were deeply inspired by the simplicity, eagerness, and studiousness of Vedanta students at the Gurukula, which also included international attendees. They were enchanted by the sight of leaping deer and dancing peacocks. Eagerly volunteering at the temple and the dining hall, the students cherished every moment of their stay.
The Gurukula experience and the counselling sessions have been instrumental in the personal and academic growth of our students. After returning from this trip, the students are exhibiting remarkable improvements in the form of increased focus, sincerity in their studies, work, seva, and a heightened attunement to values.
