Empowering Underprivileged Students: A Transformative Visit to Indian Institute of Science

On 24th February 2024, several children from ArshaGokulam had the opportunity to visit the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru. Guided by their beloved mentor, Ramesh Iyer sir, the children participated eagerly in the institute’s ‘OPEN DAY’ event, aimed at showcasing its activities to students and the wider public. Hailing from backgrounds where access to quality education and resources is often limited, this visit to IISc held profound significance for the children as they were given a glimpse into the world of advanced scientific institutions. As they explored the exhibits and engaged in interactive sessions, the children were captivated by the wonders of science and technology. From groundbreaking research projects to innovative technologies, they were exposed to the endless possibilities offered by the field. The guidance and support of Ramesh Iyer sir was instrumental in ensuring that our children made the most out of this invaluable opportunity. Additionally, the children had the privilege of briefly interacting with another patron, Prof. Venkata Sonti from IISc, who shared valuable insights and encouraged them to pursue their academic interests passionately. This visit to IISc has left a lasting impact on the young minds of ArshaGokulam. Beyond expanding their horizons and igniting a passion for science and technology, it served as a potent reminder that – regardless of their backgrounds and the challenges they face, with steadfast focus, determination, and the right support, they can overcome barriers and strive for success.
